Amish Leben means Amish Living. Leben is German and is pronounced (lay-bun). This site is about the Amish people’s way of life, their beliefs, families, work, history, and of course, their down home cookin, as well as the business, events, and happenings in the Holmes County Ohio area.

I live in Holmes County Ohio with my wonderful wife, Wanda, and our three daughters. I am not Amish but was raised with much of the Amish culture and I can speak Pennsylvania Dutch quite fluently. I have lived in this area my entire life and we love living here. My grandfather, Eli Shrock, was an old order Amish bishop. My father was born Amish but left the Amish when he was in his early 20′s.

I love to learn and get easily bored if I am not learning. My work has been extremely interesting and varied. I have experience and expertise (in varying degrees) in manufacturing, customer service, engineering, accounting, computer networking, software development, architecture, hospitality industry, graphic design, writing, teaching, sales, being a van driver for the Amish, tour guide, marketing, business consulting, and web development. Other interests include history, travel, shooting hoops, playing piano, hanging out with friends, working with young people, photography, reading and writing.
